How she got here with Kimberly Huck

At the age of eight, Dr. Kimberly Huck began experiencing migraines, but it wasn’t until twelve years later that she finally found relief when she met a chiropractor by chance. After only two adjustments from him, she never had another migraine. Kimberly began working as his office manager, where she saw first-hand the results his patients received. After that, she believed so much in chiropractic that she relocated to pursue her chiropractic degree.

“My husband, Dan, and I graduated from Life University in 2015 — me with my Doctor of Chiropractic degree and him with his master’s degree in sport health science. At that point, we had the choice to either pursue his dream of opening a fitness studio or mine of opening a practice. We decided to open our studio. Three days after we opened it, I found out I was pregnant with our first baby!”

Now, together they are the dynamic duo behind Peak 365 Fitness, a rowing studio in a bustling Atlanta suburb that combines an indoor-water rower with strength movements appropriate for all fitness levels. According to Kimberly, rowing works more than 84% of all the muscles in your body while being low-impact and non-weight bearing, which makes it easy on the body — especially the joints.

As much as Kimberly loved chiropractic, running the studio with her husband has given her more freedom to positively impact lives in other ways.

“When we opened, we wanted to create an environment that would suit all fitness levels whether they’re an Olympic athlete or someone who has never been in a gym before now. Clients leave feeling like they received the exact workout they needed.”

While juggling a full schedule between owning Peak 365 Fitness and raising a family, something was pulling her to find additional ways to help others be the healthiest version of themselves. Kimberly established a Facebook community, Simply Thriving Mama, to educate women on making cleaner, greener choices in their lives. She also uses that forum to talk about the green beauty movement, which she touts as the final piece to her healthy and clean living puzzle. Kimberly believes that investing your time and money into your health now means you won’t need to invest in trying to fight disease later.

“We know even if we offer the best workout in the world, it’s still only one-third of what you need to get results. Following a meal plan or nutrition program and having a community of people holding you accountable is truly the secret sauce to creating the healthiest and best version of yourself.”

Kimberly doesn’t just talk the talk — she practices what she preaches. Like anyone, life gets busy and it can be hard for her to find time to work out or make healthy choices, whether that means eating healthfully or using toxin-free deodorant. However, she is learning to make lifestyle changes she knows will be sustainable so their children can “see and feel the importance of making positive choices from day one. I’m just really proud of how Dan and I have chosen to live our lives and raise our kids in what many people would consider an unconventional way. It helps those around us — whether it be clients at Peak or women in Simply Thriving Mama — see that it is possible to be conscious of your choices and still live a fun, ‘normal’ life!”

Kimberly and Dan continually work to positively impact clients’ lives. Whether you’re rowing, walking, running, or changing your diet, Kimberly’s advice is to keep moving your body and be consistent.

“Even on the days you don’t work out, you should go for a walk, light jog, or stretch to keep your body limber. Consistency over time is what counts. Stretching and flexibility are also important.”
